Fabulous fourth grade families,
What a wonderful weel we have had! We learned so much about Islam and concluded our unit today. Our next unit will be Chemistry which will begin next week. With your child, please review pages 258-264 from the book, "What Your Fourth Grader Needs to Know". Our next Social Studies unit will be on African Kingdoms. In math, we continued to work with fractions. We practiced finding equivalent fractions, common denominators and ordering fractions. Next week, we will conclude this unit. In Language Arts, we are practicing all styles of writing: Response to Literature, Summary, Expository, Paragraphs, and Narratives. The students have been working hard adding adjectives and using sentence variety in their writing. Students would write compound and simple sentences and begin each sentence in a different and interesting way. We are really proud of their hard work!
Don't forget to mark your calendars for our minimum day on Thursday and our Presidents week of no school. The vacation week will be Monday 2/15 through 2/19.
